The use of online resources is governed by copyright law and by the terms of the license agreement between Nagoya City University and the publishers or vendors.
Violation of copyright law and/or terms of the agreement can result in suspension of access to the e-resource for an entire university.
Licensed electronic resources are restricted to authorized users (currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff of Nagoya City University). These resources may only be used for the purposes of academic research and private study.
Users may not,
- Redistribute materials to non-subscribers.
- Modify, alter, or create derivative works.
- Use beyond private purposes.
- Download excessively, systematically, or programmatically.
The examples of "excessive downloading" are as follows:
- Rapidly downloading one article after another.
- Continuously downloading tables of contents or search results.
- Downloading the full text of an entire journal issue.
- Using robots, spiders, or other automated programs to download from online resources.
Excessive downloading is strictly prohibited.
Users must comply with the terms and conditions. Publishers and vendors carefully monitor use of their e-resources, and violation of these terms and conditions may result in immediate cancellation of the service.
